About SCL
Independent. Women-owned. Founded in London in 2016.
Where it started.
I started SCL in 2016 in a small salon in Notting Hill with one idea: a trip to the hairdresser should feel genuinely fun. Not intimidating, not transactional, just great hair and a good time.
The name on the door was Samantha Cusick London. The team was tiny. The vibe was exactly right.
Ten years later that vibe is three salons across London, a stylist co-working space called Stā Studios, a home haircare range, and a client community I'm genuinely proud of every single day. We've won awards, been featured everywhere from Vogue to The Sunday Times, and done a lot of brilliant hair.
We rebranded to SCL in 2026. Same obsession. Same team. Same commitment to doing things properly. Just a name that fits where we're going next.
Properly Independent
SCL is one of London's only major women-owned independent salon groups. We make our own decisions, back our own team and answer to nobody but our clients.
No Chair Rental
We don't do chair rental at SCL. Everyone who works here is part of the team, properly invested in and properly looked after. That means consistent standards for clients, and a team that actually wants to be here.
High Standards.
No apologies.
We use the best products, train constantly and won't cut corners to compete on price.
If you want brilliant, come and see us.
Why we do things differently.

I've been doing hair for over twenty years. I trained in London, worked for some of the best names in the industry and spent a long time learning what brilliant looks like before I went out on my own.
I opened Notting Hill in 2016 because I wanted to build something different. A salon that felt like a genuine destination, somewhere clients actually looked forward to coming.
I still design every one of our salons myself. I'm still on the floor every week. I still take clients. I don't think I'll ever stop.
I also host The Silly Little Girls Club podcast, launched at Soho House with Mel C. It's exactly what it sounds like.
