Blonde Balayage In London

Blonde balayage in London

You’ve probably got a mood board. Forty-seven photos, all slightly different, all broadly sun-kissed, not too yellow, grows out nicely.

Bring it. That’s genuinely helpful. But here’s what actually determines how your blonde balayage will look: your starting colour, your hair’s condition, and the colour your colourist designs specifically for your face and skin tone.

The photos help us understand the direction. The consultation tells us what’s achievable.

What makes good blonde balayage good

Placement. That’s most of it.

Where the lightener sits on the hair. How it transitions from darker at the root to lighter at the end. How it frames the face. It’s the kind of thing that’s invisible when it’s done right. You just look like you’ve been somewhere warm. No one can quite put their finger on why.

We’ve been doing balayage at SCL since 2016. It’s the most requested thing we do. We love it.

The toner part, which matters more than people think

After we lift, we tone. The toner is what gives blonde balayage its actual shade: warm and honeyed, cool and ashy, somewhere in between. It also takes away any brassiness from the lightening process.

Toner fades faster than the balayage itself. Most clients come back for a refresh after three or four months to keep the tone sharp. Some love how it softens as it fades. We’ll tell you exactly what to expect for your specific result.

How often?

Every 12 to 16 weeks on average. Some clients go longer. Because the lightener doesn’t touch the root, there’s no line demanding your immediate attention.
