More and more people are after the magic frizz-taming treatment but not many people know a lot about it! We've put together a little guide with FAQ's for anyone that's thinking of going for it. Scroll down to find out more...
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KERATIN + A BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT TREATMENT?
Keratin treatment is a hair smoothing process involving formaldehyde, in which protein attaches to the hair and seals down the cuticle, producing a more manageable mane.
Brazilian Blowout is a lighter version of the keratin treatment and will help to tame frizz whilst still enhancing the natural wave/curl the same.
Another difference is that the keratin treatment can take up to 3 hours in the salon and the treatment is left on your hair for 3 days before washing out. However, BB is applied in 90 minutes and dried in the salon so it's a lot less hassle.
WHICH HAIR TYPES ARE SUITED FOR KERATIN + BB?
Keratin is the right option for hair that is overly curly and overly voluminous. The treatment will reduce the volume and make hair far easier to manage and style.
Brazilian Blowout is better suited if you want to keep volume and movement but just want to tame frizz and create reflective shine.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
This is dependant on the length of your hair but it can be anything from around £200 for short hair up to £400 for long hair. See our prices for the treatment here > http://www.samanthacusicklondon.com/prices/
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
Both treatments will last up to 3 months using sulfate-free shampoo only. The less you wash it, the longer it lasts.
WILL IT MAKE YOUR HAIR DEAD STRAIGHT?
While both treatments make hair appear straighter and smoother, neither of these treatments are permanent such as Japanese straightening treatments or hair relaxers which are known to permanently alter the structure of the hair.
CAN IT DAMAGE YOUR HAIR?
Make sure you go to a good, trusted hairdresser the same way you would if you were bleaching your hair. We wouldn't recommend either treatment if you have heavily bleached hair as there are a lot of chemicals and heat involved.
We hope this post helped any of you thinking about having a Keratin Brazilian Blowout treatment done!
